What are your guys favorite 223 loads? I am thinking 25.5 grains of Varget and a 55gr. Max

Varget is a little too slow burning for the 55 gr bullets.  Work up to 26.5 gr H335 or 26 gr AA2230.  I use LC cases and a WSR or CCI450 primer.  Been using those 2 powders for 40+ years with complete satisfaction and excellent accuracy in bolt, gas and single shot rifles.

What? Nobody loading BLC2?  I just loaded 26 grains of BLC2 with sierra 55gr Blitzkings in LC brass and WW primers. Bullets seated to just touch the rifling. Shot .490 today out of a 26 inch SS encore.

I've had some good results with BLC2.Its just that every time i did, another powder was slightly better.Figure sooner or later the BLC2 will turn out the best load for a given combo.

25.3gr.of varget and a 65gr. game king in the AR and a near max charge of H4198 and 55gr. vmax in the Encore.I have had good results with BLC-2 and Benchmark with 40-55 gr.bullets also. For small edible game try some 45gr.bullets and some Trailboss powder.
XLI the one to go with.
