Greetings,
I have recently acquired a post-64 model 70 target in 30-06 from 1970 production.  The sling/accessory rail on the forend is there but has not attachments.  I have tried several handstops and screws and none fit, all are too small.  Can someone tell me what size threads the six holes for the handstop take?  Also, what is the screw size for the forward sling mount, which seems different than the other six holes.  I'm having a devil of a time getting a handstop mounted!

thanks and regards,
 Gene

Gene:  I would either run this one past the gunnut69, the Moderator of the Gunsmithing Forum, or right past Winchester as they most likely have the specs and maybe even replacement screws.  I would contact the factory directly.
