I've been keeping an eye out for a nice walnut stock for my original Contender. I finally found one in my price range, so I'm jumping on it. It's one of the early ones with the red recoil pad, checkering on the grip, and the cougar grip cap. What's the history on this version and are they more or less desirable or comfortable than the current version with the black recoil pad?
