Follow the money!

Who made illegal drugs so profitable?

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

Situation is getting bad!
Threats and bounties being placed on Arizona sheriffs by Mexican cartels. Seems to me a quick solution to this matter is for the sheriffs to play the same game and place a bounty on drug cartels. And not just a medicore bounty, but in the neighborhood that would get the cartels  attention and watch how fast Arizona is populated by U.S bounty hunters! After a short period of this type of action, how long do you think the cartels would decide that there might be a slight " occupational hazard" to their industry?  Head of cartels would naturally bring a higher bounty than rank and file members. Bounties to be paid "Dead or Alive"!
The federal gov`t could fund this activity( Fat chance) or if the state could not afford this then
public donations might be another alternative.
If the price is right, I think you would see a definite reduction in drug cartel activity.

Or the federal government could get off of it`s lazy arse and get the troops on the border and clean this matter up pronto!!

As long as Americans have this insatiable appetite for drugs, they will continue to be smuggled into the US. We either have to stop the use of illegal drug use (impossible to accomplish) or legalize and control the drugs in order to eliminate the profit motive for the cartels. We have lost the war on drugs! America has to face up to this fact.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.

I still believe that killing the traffickers, dealers, and pushers would drasticly curb use, I'm talking about those making meth too. They are nothing but dregs of society. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

It was lost from the beginning. Governments can't legislate morality. As with the alcohol prohibition, more people want it when told they can't have it. When government prohibits something, black-markets spring up and violence with them. Government makes it profitable.
IMO it is not governments prerogative to tell me what I can or can't put in my body. Who owns my body, me or them? Now, I choose not to use drugs or alcohol, but it is not because government controls me; I control myself.
I am a free man on my back forty. They would change that if they could and some would support them.

I'm thinking there is a reason our government will not secure the borders, and they do not enforce the laws there.  They have the power, I believe they choose to keep borders open and let drug trafficking survive, there is a reason for everything the government does, or does not do.  It is all more corrupt than anyone can imagine in my opinion and our government is part of it and it goes deep.

Unless it was your child.......huh?
Nothing enters our borders without the sanction of the government. It wouldn't be in their (Ones that profit the most, best interest to stop it. I remember a border agent on 60 minutes many years ago talking about a truck carrying drugs trying to cross at his check point. The sniff dogs were alerting on the tires, and when he told his crew to pull the tires, his superior said "NO" pull the gas tank. The tanks only held fuel, and when the agent tried again to pull the tires the superior told them no. He did it anyway and found they held drugs. The agent was transferred from Texas to Fla. soon after.

That is the way it works, and the war on drugs is a farce and lie.The same can be said about the illegals. No need for a fence! Just jail anyone putting them to work in place of an American, and make trafficking in drugs across the border a cap. crime punishable by execution. And execute a few to get the point across. Put the ones that are already here in buses and drop them at the border, push them across and deny reentry at gun point.
Freedom Of Speech.....Once we lose it, every other freedom will follow.

If you don't have the guts to execute the users, how can you call it a war on drugs? I am not saying it is easy, I am saying that is how you do it if you are serious.

I think that every time they catch a load of dope it should be treated with something like anti-buse and put back on the street. Something that would make the user so sick they would think they were going to die. So that they would never know if they were about to get high or violently ill. Just might deter some of them.

We had something on that order happen here many years ago. It seems some type of caustic soda was added to a woman's cocaine. Well it did cure her addiction.
