Hi & Welcome,

This is covered in the Handi FAQs sticky, one of the permanent threads at the begining of this forum.  A 44 Mag barrel will work on an SB2 frame, however, it may or may not "fit" that is lockup correctly.  Looky at the FAQs, search control "f" for barrel fitting and it will explain how to check for correct fit and what to do if it doesn't fit.

Good luck

Welcome!

From a "will it fit" stand point. ANY barrel from the past twenty plus years will fit any receiver. (Sans some 10GA)
From a stregnth stand point SB2 is stronger than a SB1. SB1 is primarily a shotgun receiver. It's currently also being used for the 357 and 44 Magnum pistol rounds as well.

All of that and much much more is available in the FAQ's.
