Saw a couple handi's, black stocks, scope rails at sportsworld in tulsa today. 210$

I think about getting one for bear hunitng in Wisconsin and Minnesota. I don't see them in Handis around here though. I have 900 240 gr rem. bullets doing nothing in the basement.

I would ask okie44 where he saw them in Tulsa and order one.  I have three SB2 frames and stock sets sitting around and doing nothing, so I think I'm gonna look for a .444 barrel.

Do they have the new checkered syn stocks? They only have one here I'd like to have, nickle rec. camo syn. stocks and Rem scope $400. though ::) Been here a while, hoping for a good price drop.

I'll keep an eye out for that deal. Doubt I'll see it here.

I don't really care for the nickle frame, I'd prob. buy it for $210.

Depending on what style and from whom, 240 gr. bullets are not the best fodder for a 444.

I would have to agree on the 240gr. not being good in the 444marlin, my handi hates them.  went to 265gr. FTX slugs from Hornady, with good stout loads of IMR 3031.  I am getting 1" groups at 100, recoil is stout but managable. My advice is go buy one and have fun.

My 22" 444 Handi loves the 240gr XTP, shoots em real good, under an inch at 100yds, just like it does the 265gr Hornady RN, but I think the one of 265gr Hornady bullets are a better choice for hunting loads, I've not shot anything but paper with it so far, works great for that!  ;) I'll be working with the 275gr Hawk spitzer and 280gr BTB WFNGC in my 20" octagon 444 that I just made, hopefully in the next week or so.
