May 21, 2011 is Judgment Day???
« on: May 01, 2011, 07:42:45 AM »
On occasion, I listen to short wave radio. There is interesting news from other countries such as China News English. China really hates the USA. Anyhow, on some obscure Christian station there is a guy that keeps mentioning that May 21, 2011 is “Judgment Day” but he never really goes into detail what me means, or I’ve never heard him say what he means. He also keeps saying that the Tribulation Period is 23 years long, and started in May 21, 1988. So here in three weeks, it will be the end of the Tribulation and  will be Judgment Day.

As far as I know, the Bible say the Tribulation Period is seven years. The Bible also says that no one knows when the Second Coming of Christ will be. Not even Jesus knows, only God does. The Bible also says those that make predictions of the End Times are false prophets, and are of the anti-christ.

As far as I’m concerned, this guy is a loon. But it does bother me that kooks like him may have many followers, and they could very well start some kind of man made self fulfilled prophecy of sorts and start something crazy on May 21, 2011.

As anyone else heard this whacko, and are there others like him out there?

Amazing!  There is an SUV parked not far from me with the same message painted on it.  It's called Family Radio, looks like just a regular AM or FM station, don't recall the numbers.  It's near my church and a bunch of us were thinking of going up there the night after Judgement Day to sing Christmas carols.  That'll fix 'em.  Without putting too fine a point on it, I think many immigrants have become Christian, but their spiritual journey has taken them into some pretty murky waters.  I think a lot of their leaders are charlatans - you see them on TV in the big cities.

Here's my favorite quote from the article....

Quote
While this prediction is pretty eerie in light of the mysterious animal deaths in Arkansas, it's worth noting that this isn't the first time that Camping has predicted the end of the world.

A lot of information from my search on the topic, but it's all repeat type information(sort of re-hashing of the same story over and over).  My biggest probably with the Earth coming to an end on that day.....the bathroom remodel will be completed that evening and I'd like to be able to drop a duece before the Earth is done with!

I think it does say something about "Family Radio" or something close to that. I believe the short wave call letters are WCRN or close to that. The guy is real dry and monotone. He's rude too. A caller can be saying something he disagrees with and he will repeat over and over, "excuse me...excuse me...excuse me..." and he never lets them finish. I'd like to call him and speak my mind, but he'd never let me finish. I can't wait for May 22nd to see what he has to say. My guess is he will disapear never to be heard from again.

I've seen the billboards along the road here in Michigan, again from Family Life Radio, claiming judgment day is upon us.  Sounds like another hyped up Y2K scare to me.  We''ll see you all on the 22nd, and we can look forward to a few more years until the second coming I think.  I like the idea of signing Christmas Carols though.... that made me laugh!

there was a guy at the local commuter station with a sign stating May 21, 2011. I wondered where he was coming from. I souldn't have bought a monthly train ticket for May. What a waste of money.

At least with the Mayan's....."The end of the world doesn't mean the end of the Earth, just the end of life as we know it."

Although, I'm not really sure when the day 21-21-2012 is......

Wadya bet - after May 21st the hustler will say "Well, God made his judgement, but he decided not to do anything about it, so you didn't notice.  Aren't you glad I told you.  Now sister, pass the plate".

There was something in the paper, taken off the news wire, about how Vietnamese authorities put the kabbosh on some Hmong in Dien Bien who had gathered to wait for God to take them away on May 21.  The Hmong (of Gran Tourino fame) manage to get in the news an awful lot.  The book "Tragic Mountains" tells the story how the US suited them up as a secret army during the Indochina War and then bugged out leaving them holding the bag.  More collateral damage of the American Empire.

I listened to this loon again this afternoon on short wave. He was rambling on about how he came up with the date 5/21/2011. He talked non stop for about 3 minutes, adding up numbers, subtracting numbers, to show 5/21/2011. Heck, you could add up numbers in the Bible to mean anything you want doing it his way.

A caller came right out and asked him if he would be around the day after, and would he still be on the air. He stuttered around for a minute, then came up with something about not all Christians would be raptured away, there will be some Christians left to continue spreading the Gospel. Then Jesus will return a few weeks (or months) after to clean house.

So he is already making up excuses to cover his butt if this doesn’t happen. What a pinhead.

Anyhow, next Saturday will tell……….

I counted me and I'm still here.  Nobody missing at work.  Just got home.  Have to see if everybody shows up at chuch today.

Nobody said anything about Judgement Day, they said the rapture.  The church is the last place I'd look for missing people.  Go to Walmart and check the walls in the entry way.  Thousands go missing everyday.
