I think the hevishot is worth the money personally (really, how many times to do you shoot during a season?). I shoot an 870 "turkey gun" with a 24" barrel and a turkey choke. The hevi-shot 5s and 4s pattern significantly better than the lead equivalent in 31/2" shells at 45+ yards. Inside 45 yards the pattern seems to be barely tighter with the hevishot, but it's not significant. I used to swear by the 3" duplex 4/6 loads until I moved to a new gun with a 31/2" chamber.
