« on: May 03, 2011, 06:14:17 AM »
Do any of you Harrington and Richardson experts have a picture(s) of a Harrington & Richardson Model 904 you can share with me or tell me where I can find such photos?  I 've searched GBO, but my search has turned up nothing. :'(    Thank you in advance for your help!! :)

THANK YOU very much, Jim Ritchie!!  :)  I hit the wrong key, the Tab key I think, on the earlier message and didn't get it finished before it "went."  Anyway, I'm grateful for the links you sent; those pics are precisely what I needed.  I am grateful for your help.  Perhaps some day I can return the favor. 8)

No problem!
I only regret that I don't have one of my own to send you a pic of.
I do have a model 604, which is about the same thing except it's 22 mag, and only a 6 shooter.
A 904, and 905, are on my list though.
just waiting for the right one for the collection to come along.
Are you looking at buying one?
Jim

Hello again Jim -- Yes, I am looking to purchase a .22 revolver, but not necessarily a H & R 904 and not even necessarily a H & R.  I want something reasonable--yeah, you can say I want something cheap--and the H & R revolvers really intrigue me.  What other H & R revolver models should I consider?  Thanks again for your help.  By the way, what part of Nebraska (looked at your profile) are you from?  I'm in Lawrence, KS, but was born and raised in north central KS bordering the NE state line!! ;)

Regards,
Dan (Jayhawk Dan)

Jayhawk,

I'm near Lincoln.

There a lot of choices out there, but since I'm an H&R guy, here's my suggestion.
Buy a Sportsman!
Not really the cheap model, but worth it.
Made from the 1930's to the 1990's
It was the top of the line H&R revolver.
Get a good one, and it should last a lifetime.
Prices from $ 200 for a shooter, to $ 500 for a NIB piece.
Built heavy, good shooter!
Here's a couple pics of some of mine.
That being said, there are several other models that typically sell for much less money, yet are still very good plinkers!
922,929,939,949,976,939,940,etc, the list is pretty long, and I don't think you will be disappointed with any of them.
There are enough choices, you just have to find the one that you like, in your price range>
Good luck!!

jayhawk,
Here's a couple other choices.
Model 939
Should be able to pick up a decent condition one for $ 200-250

Model 976
about $ 300 for a nice one

Model 922
One of the most utility models offered.
Can find them new, or like new for $ 200
Great shooters

Do some shopping, and find what you like, and can afford.
You won't be disappointed
