While I suppose his (Nugent) defense of the 2nd Amendment is a good thing, I cannot stand very much of him, and his goofiness, but then again, Hannity gets on my nerves too.
Almost immediately after graduation in 1968, I found myself standing in the Dallas Induction Center for a physical. While I was not drafted, I was certainly subject to being so, and several of my friends were, and some joined. It was all about your draft number back then. The one thing I noticed on the bus of locals taken to Dallas that day, was not one farmer's son was on that bus. Not one. Then I learned later about agricultural exemptions for service, and got to checkin. Sure enough. Not one farmer in my community nor their sons, had gone to the service since WWII. Still haven't to this day, even with the voluntary army.
All three of my sons have, with one a Marine, one Airborne, and one 82nd Airborne with him doing three combat tours. I also have a grandson that is about to join right after graduation in a few days, and although not military, I served the American citizen for 21 years in uniform as a police officer.
To me Ted Nugent is a guy with talent to play a guitar in a style of music I don't care for, but to each his own. He is a weirdo with money, and that isn't anything new. As far as the drug issue, I would need them to listen to his music for any length of time.
