Hey Guys from Oz,
I'm new to this board and only been shooting for about 18 months, currently have only 1 gun it's a Norica Jet 850fps, Spanish made they make guns for Beeman apparently, Don't hear much about them on the forums.
I paid $340 (Aust) for mine and I love it, damn straight shooter, solid as heck, kinda heavy but I think that's what deadens the recoil.
Any one know much about Norica's
The quality on my gun is first rate, but Gamo's seem to have a bad name here, I just wondered because they're both Spanish guns.

I guess there are three different airgun makers in Spain; Cometa, Gamo, and Norica. Gamo is the most popular over here by far. For the most part, they control the "entry level" airgun market. Their success is due to nothing other than price and advertising. I'm not crazy about anything they make although their 220/440 series is not a bad gun. RWS markets Cometa and Beeman markets Norica airguns over here. I have never owned a RWS/Cometa but still have a couple of Beeman/Noricas. They're decent guns but certainly not to the Weihrauch/Diana quality level.

Welcome to Graybeard Outdoors. The best place on the net for hunters/shooters to go and express themselves. Don't over look what the British are making either. Theoben makes great air rifles. Lawdog

I've got one of those Norica guns sold by Beeman. It's an S-1, same as the Norica Jet, or the model 85 as Norica use to call it. 825 with 7.9 gr CPLs, quite accurate too. The trigger is very nice, and better than anything you'll find on any gun in this price range here. I paid $175 for mine. It is a big gun, near 4 feet long, and heavy, and has a good kick to it.
Most guys who call themselves serious airguners dislike Gamos. I think its because in the past Gamo has provided very little in the way of product support, especially in the spare parts department. Of course, a lot (but not all) of Gamo guns are not exactly high quality stuff either. Lots of plastic, cheesy parts, etc.

Sorry. I wasn't leaving the Brits out. Webley/BSA/Theoben are ALL class acts.
