Still, Casey is often asked to explain himself--not to his fellow re-enactors or SCV members, but to people who just can't understand where he's coming from.

Keep the faith guys, there are folks out there who really "GET IT!"
If, as one contributor seemed to claim in another thread, most people get taught in school that slavery wasn't the major cause of The War, why that is the question that is at the top of list of questions asked Confederate re-enactors (well, as a cannoneer I get asked "Is that cannon real?" more, but if I'm away from the gun it is some version of "Why do you support slavery?"). Have to wonder where they get that idea if not in school.
