Yep, really, really, really.  I believe he's the CIC.

  Junior;

do you suppose he may give the Army Spec Ops chopper pilots and the Navy SEALs a bit of the hand to hand action next time, and not keep it all to himself ?

IG, that's what I was saying. In a second term, with no contraints to re-election, this is only the beginning. The only bright side is to keep a gun friendly, or so, House. But then the Senate is going to be gun grabbing as well. We have ZERO reason to believe that he will change his ways through 2018.

Anti-civil rights advocate and elitist thug Mayor R. Daley is requesting, and getting, a round the clock armed guard.    He should get the same protection he says is all that everyone else should get by with, a whistle and a cell phone with 911 on speed dial.  Maybe a set of keys to poke into someones face.

  Junior;
Here's your opportunity to move into the 21st century..   You seem bvery concerned with the sum total of melanin in one's skin..OK..I suppose one could also be concerned with the shape of earlobes or the length of the middle toes..but that doesn't guarantee a sensible vote..
If you still want a candidate with considerable melanin, take a look at this man.  For what it's worth, he appears to have more melanin than Obama ! Not only that, he has what some others overly concerned with melanin consider the proper credentials..he was born out of the history of slavery..
   Introducing Herman Cain;  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGh4U9iavjM
No need to vote for a fellow with a little bit of melanin when you can have the "real McCoy"..   Notice where Mr Cain was interviewed...at the NRA national meeting in Pittsburg..

Junior,,,   Just a word from me to you..you ought to abandon the old, worn "racism" Koolaid..it is rapidly losing it's flavor..due to overuse..
Did you see the reception Mr Cain got at the debate between the 5 leading Republican candidates ?  If your are concerned with color in politics, it would have done your heart much good.  He was the overwhelming favorite of the mostly white audience...so where does that place prejudice ?  Who is most guilty of prejudice these days ?
To the new "thinking man" , it's not about color, political party, promises, bribing with earmarks or spending on favored projects...  It's all about Principles, shrinking govt, cutting taxes and above all...FREEDOM     ..And that's what the Tea Party is all about !

One need not be a Tea Party member to value these things, any thinking person can figure it out.  Some have considered the Tea Party as ..here we go again.."racist".  Let's see what the "racist" tea Party thinks of Mr Cain..He has a genuine and interesting bio, no "wondering" about his roots or faith..

Yes their is to this day a Giant Plantation in America where most blacks are held as slaves. It is called The Democratic Party. If they stay on the Plantation  they are promised a never ending share of the nations wealth.  This never truly happens.  Many escape and join the competitive market place and find individual success in the free market. These escapees are branded as "Uncle Toms" Oreos etc by the Plantations owners. The Masters of the Democratic Party Plantation are very scared of those who escape.  After all if they are successful others may want to be Freedmen. :(

Sidewinder, very well said sir.   The "race" goal of the left is a very old tactic, to keep a people(s), believing that all will be better if you choose "A" over "B". That more favors will be awarded, that more benefit will be received from..... Keeping a people(s) dependent on the favors of a few, or instilling advancement through hard work and self respect.  I wonder now who the real "racist" is?

Case in point, which class of the same people continued to advance themselves, and which group of the same peoples were totally dependent upon government handouts during a natural disaster crisis in New Orleans?  Just who, is really keeping who oppressed??

Sad when some folks figure it out, and for their reward as you described are called uncle tom, oreos, or in worse cases house ___________. That last phrase is from a very good friend of mine (Dennis), who is referred to, as, by some of "his people" because he chooses to work hard and "not get caught up in the crap"  (his words). His wife Deena, will be the first to tell a black person to stop acting like a "street n------" and get some self respect.

Guys, guys, guys.  C'mon now, let's look at this rationally.

So someone not even connected with the current administration (Bolton) and, in fact, someone who has political leanings in the other direction (a Republican) says the current administration is gonna go all gun-grabbin' on us?  And we're supposed to jump up and start waving our hands in the air and start squawking like hysterical chickens?

Knock knock.  It's reality at the door.  Let's take a deep breath.

1.  First, let's go back to our civics lessons for a second.  The Obama administration CANNOT pass anti-gun legislation--or any other legislation for that matter.

The President belongs to the Executive branch of government. He can ask Congress for anything, but he can only sign into law the legislation that CONGRESS (the Legislative branch) passes.  Any anti-gun laws above and beyond what's in place now would have to come from congress.

Now excuse me, but last I checked the House is controlled by a Republican majority and the Senate has such a thin Democrat majority that just deciding on what will be served for the Friday special in the cafeteria requires 4 committee meetings and 2 weeks of negotiation.

2.  If you actually look at the voting records, position statements, and NRA rankings in an objective way, you'll see that Democrat does NOT equal Gun Grabber.  The fact is that many Democrats are strong supporters of gun rights and hunting rights.   This fact makes passage of any anti-gun legislation even more unlikely.

3.  Politicians on both sides of the aisle very rightly fear the political power of gun owners.  We watch these things, we contribute money, and we vote.    With the elections being closely contested in so many states these days, no matter how much of a crazed anti-gun nut job you might be, as a Congressional candidate you are NOT going to pick a fight with gun owners.

Gun rights are current a third rail political topic.  You touch it, you get zapped.  In a political atmosphere where no Congressional seat is safe, sticking your head up and shouting, "Ban all the guns!", is about the dumbest thing ANY politician could do.   And they know it.

4.  Remember that third branch of our government?  The Judicial Branch.   Well, the Supreme Court just last year finally gave us the ruling that we as gun owners wanted:  Gun rights are an INDIVIDUAL right.

This ruling has put the anti-gun forces in total disarray.  The implications of this ruling are so broad and deep that I can't even begin to speak to it here, but safe to say that the primary weapon that gun-grabbing locals politicians have used for years--the local gun ban ordnance--has now been declared to be illegal.  The bottom line is that even if anti-gun legislation would get through congress and Obama were to sign it, it would be instantly headed for a hearing in the Supreme Court where it would almost certainly be smacked down.

As gun owners, we're going ourselves a disservice by running around squealing and waving our hands in the air like hysterical ninnies every time someone shouts "Gun Ban!" in the service of advancing their own political interests.  We need be calm and rational and do everything we can to counter the MondoMedia's stereotype of the gun owner as an unbalanced Rambo Rednecks who are ready to shoot first and ask questions later.

Support gun rights groups, support politicians who believe in the Second Amendment, do EVERYTHING you can to promote the positive image of shooting sports and hunting, and get the next generation involved in them.   Focus political discussion on the real problems that are impacting our country:  Government debt, unemployment, a sluggish economy, illegal immigration, and other real problems.  Simple as that.

Hysterical, paranoid, and reactionary behavior plays into the hands of the enemy.  That's exactly how they WANT gun owners to look.  Let's calm down and play the game from a position of strength rather than rampant paranoia.

How many represenatives and senators got to vote on Clinton's gun bans via executive order?

Can one of you help? I cant seem to find the congressional voting records on those executive orders.

I wonder how the voting would go on an Obama executive order? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/15/obama-gun-laws-congress_n_836138.html But I am sure none of you will believe an article that the extreme right wing Huffington Post published regarding Obama looking for ways to circumvent Congress on gun control. What pro gun legislation has Obama voted in favor of as a Senator or approved as a President? What has he voted against? HB, SB, Ex Order, what? Anything?  Directed to anyone.
I'm not aware of any, but then... I couldn't answer that question about most politicians. Maybe someone else can tackle it.
Best I can come up with, is that in spring of 2009 he signed a credit card bill which had attached to it legislation that allows peeps to carry in parks. That upset gun-grabbers, animal rights wackos, and hairy-legged women, all of whom generally like Obama but were angry at him over that. Gun-grabbers were furious, which means the President must have done something good for us. That's all I can think of at the moment, maybe someone else has more.

Every congressional member got to vote on the legislation.  It was the Assault Weapons Ban that was part of the 1994 Crime Bill.  The Democrats managed to ram it through, but it was a Pyrrhic victory.  The Assult Weapons ban galvanized Republicans and even a lot of moderates and the Democrats were routed in the midterm elections later that year.

The Clinton executive orders were extensions of that existing law. This is the primary limit of executive orders.  The President can change the way in which existing laws are interpreted and in some cases enforced.  But they can't just create a new law.

So given the recent Supreme Court ruling affirming that the second amendment is an individual right and the fact that the assult weapons ban is now history, which laws, exactly, do you think Obama will extend by executive order and how?

No but he can issue an Executive order like Clinton did on domestic violence, which outlaw more people owning guns than any other law ever passed! Your wife or girl friend gets mad and calls the law and you can no longer own a gun! The democrats are working every angle to outlaw guns!

Those who advocate complacency should take a look at what happened in the countries like Australia, Canada, England etc.  To think we are somehow different is foolhardy; we are always about one massacre away from the same fate suffered by gun owners in those countries.

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in either political party to protect our rights, or defend the actual words, or intent of the Constitution.  Obama shouldn't survive the next election, but if he gets the chance to stack the Supreme Court, it might not make any difference.

If and when the Second Amendment goes, all the rest are next.

I dont know the answer to that. I am not a lawyer, I am not a politician nor do I have an army of lawyers advising me. Do you seriuosly doubt the ability of a politician and an army of lawyers' ability to twist an existing law to suit their purpose? If you do thats your business, I on the other hand will remain vigilant.

You'd hope so but it's worse. In NC an angry woman can easily get a DVPO, ex parte... the cops will come to your house, throw you out, and take your firearms. 10 days later you have to come to court and make a case why it shouldn't be in place for a year. It's a hard case to win. And if you do win, it'll be a month or two before your property is returned.

Call a favorite tactical weapon in a divorce. Joe Biden is a jerk (I'm restraining myself in a family-friendly forum)
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

I'm all in favor of vigilance.

What I'm not in favor of is barking mad, hysterical, squealing, raving, foaming-at-the-mouth paranoia that says every creak in the floorboards and shadow on the wall is somebody coming to grab our guns.

As I said, this kind of paranoid, hysterical, ranting/raving behavior is exactly how the anti-gun people WANT to portray us.  They want to portray all gun owners as Rambo-wannabe, crazed, nut-case lunatics.

Remain vigilant and respond to actual threats.   Anything else actually harms the overall cause because it's a sucker bet that enriches the enemy.

Can you supply some specifics like the state and city where this happened?  It sounds like some sort of local ordinance to me, nothing to do with the national law that this thread deals with.  Nothing in Federal gun law deals with "accusations" of anything, it's only convictions.

Looks like he is still able to have firearms however. Several people I have known that are prone to domestic violence, including my brother, should not be able to have big blunt objects, sharp objects or firearms in IMHO and should probably have their hands bound most of the time.
