Obama Snubs 9/11 Family Member Request to Drop CIA Investigations

Back in 2009, our “oh so honest” Attorney General, Eric Holder, began investigating the CIA for abusing detainees (aka enhanced interrogation). About the same time, Obama shifted the job of interrogating away from the CIA. There has been heated debate on Capitol Hill about whether or not enhanced interrogation methods led us to bin Laden. The White House says that it was many different forms of intelligence that led us to him but most experts say that it was water boarding and other methods that caused KSM and other detainees to sing like little birds. You don’t have to be Einstein to realize that these enhanced interrogation methods not only led us to bin Laden but have also saved thousands of lives by uncovering terrorist plots that were still in the planning stage.

After yesterday’s wreath laying ceremony at Ground Zero, Obama met with family members of 9/11 victims. Debra Burlingame, an attorney and the sister of the pilot of Flight 77, the plane that hit the Pentagon, has been an outspoken critic of Obama and Eric Holder over the investigation of the CIA and its operatives who performed enhanced interrogations. According to Ms. Burlingame, when Obama approached her table, she asked him if he would ask the Attorney General to stop the investigation. After all….wasn’t the information gained from the CIA what led us to the most wanted man in America? The CIA can’t do their job if they fear legal action. President Obama refused her request saying, "No, I will not"….and then turned his back on her and walked away. Typical. Cold, aloof and arrogant beyond belief.

He won’t call off Holder and his gang of wolves because in doing so he would admit that he was wrong and President Bush was right.

We know he would never….ever….do that. The narcissistic "savior" makes it a point to never entertain requests or act decently toward those who call him out on his liberal, leftist and rude attitude toward those who hold genuine American values and ideals.

His behavior is strange for a presidential candidate who one would think should want to garner favor and votes for the 2012 election. But he has stated that he will have his way, even if it results in him being a one term president.

She asked a question in public, and got a public answer, according to the writer (who has a clear position). A snub? What would have been a non-snub answer?

Perhaps he should have done just that. And perhaps she was playing gotcha, and he didn't want to play along. A real snub would have been to turn back without responding, sure... but the President did answer her question.

What I don't understand is why is  AG, Eric Holder even investigating.  What is he investigating?  "Of the hundreds of suspected terrorists we have captured since 9-11, precisely three have been waterboarded by Central Intelligence Agency operatives who believed that their acts were legal because of written advice given by the Department of Justice in the so-called “torture memos.”...  "In an August 1, 2002 legal memorandum for John Rizzo, then General Counsel of the CIA, Assistant Attorney General Jay Bybee described waterboarding as one of the 10 “techniques” used to retrieve information from Abu Zubaydah, one of Osama bin Laden’s confidants." (quotes taken from A Brief History of Waterboarding by Teo Molin) 
Since waterboarding was legal according to the DOJ at the time of the waterboarding, Eric Holder has no legal standing to investigate.  You cannot try a person for an act which was legal at the time of the act.  A later law passed making the act illegal, does not apply for an act committed prior to the law taking effect. 
Simply stated, if on Tuesday you chewed bubble gum and walked at the same time.  A law prohibiting such actions, which went into effect on Wednesday would not apply to your pass acts.  However it would apply to you if you behaved that way after the law went into effect on Wednesday.
