Finally got around to reading the news today and it seems that Osama died of natural causes (for a terrorist). My first reactions were that it wasn't a big deal, but that it sent a good message to potential US enemies: we'll get you even if it takes a long time to do it.
So what now? Is the US any safer? I don't think so.
I'm glad it was kept as an open project, and it certainly has some domestic political benefits.
The best I can hope for is that it increases the number of young men who think twice before deciding to become a terrorist.
Somehow, however, I get the nagging feeling that this may eventually make matters worse.
