Osama. Now what?
« on: May 08, 2011, 04:39:13 PM »
Finally got around to reading the news today and it seems that Osama died of natural causes (for a terrorist). My first reactions were that it wasn't a big deal, but that it sent a good message to potential US enemies: we'll get you even if it takes a long time to do it.

So what now? Is the US any safer? I don't think so.

I'm glad it was kept as an open project, and it certainly has some domestic political benefits.

The best I can hope for is that it increases the number of young men who think twice before deciding to become a terrorist.

Somehow, however, I get the nagging feeling that this may eventually make matters worse.

What do you think?

Who cares what the fanatics think, or do.  They hated us before bin Laden and they'll hate us post bin Laden.  No fears though, our own Osama is watching out for us.

We got osama but we still have obama.  obama is a greater threat to the U.S. than the raghead was.

One other thing: I think they should show the messy post mortem pictures of the corpse as a vivid reminder of what happens to these terrorists. As things are today, people have the image of bin Laden that looks like a publicity picture, and that helps him become an appealing martyr figure.

Now the Feds will search the so called treasure trove for reasons to stomp on the constitution  and take away more of our freedom.

Hopefully with Osama gone and the "new" wave of democracy flowing through the mid east things will quiet down. It is really just to early to tell. Personally I feel Iran is still a sponsor and pushes alot of buttons. Egypt while riding the waves of democracy and all this new freedom will probably open it's border and allow some of the Palestinians in. The problem with this is Hamas is fairly radical and militant. Young people without jobs and too much time on their hands tend to migrate towards this. Syria is going to continue as normal.
Nato again today targeted the Qadafi compound but he got away. Libya will continue on with this struggle. Without outside troops I just don't see any break away from Qadafi.
it will continue to be a stalemate. The state department just gave the "rebels" 150 million to keep them functioning.

I see nothing more than a money pit. Eternal vigilance will need to be kept to keep this garbage of radical militancy away from our shores.

The so called citizens or rebels are funded and pushed by the muslim brotherhood. They want to unite all of the godless nations under their rule, and the obamination is helping them. POWDERMAN. >:( >:(

Today the Taliban is killing Paki security forces as a payback for not doing enough to protect Osama. Personally I think it is more for not engaging US troops.

If Hamas and the Muslim brotherhood form an alliance that would cause even more problems in the Egypt-Isreal area. It looks like this will happen soon.
