I too read Michelle Obama's thesis. What a joke.
What exactly makes it a joke in your eyes? Please quote specific examples and why your thinking was what it was.

It appears you have not read it or you would likely be forced to admit the truth also. It was published on the web for a short time, but was apparently such an embarrassment that they quickly took it down. I did have the opportunity to read it prior to it's suppression. To begin, her diction and general elocution is woefully wanting. You will note in some of the sketches provided that she was at best, an average student; not truly Princeton material. But Michelle had an ace-in-the-hole; affirmative action, so it is likely you and I paid for her education, while scratching for funds for our own progeny's education.
Her thesis, were it written by my12 year old grandaughter and presented to me for review, would be sent back with her to for corrections. I would tell her to improve her grammar, don't be so bitter and hateful and above all not to obsess over trifles, most of which were simply events either misinterpreted or misunderstood.
The whole thesis is one of hatred; hatred for whites and hatred for America, the America she said was founded upon hate and crime and populated by white people who are "ineradicably racist". She bemoans the fact that the "Afro-American Studies" program at Princeton was one of the smaller departments. This would lead the inquisitive mind to rhetorically ask; "How large are the Euro-American, Asian-American and Native-American studies departments"? Amusingly, her diatribe doesn't answer the question... 
Clearly, as I see it, she exposed herself as the quintessential bigot..

The entire thesis was available and I believe it probably still is if you look hard enough. I read the entire thing. Apart from her open hatred of white people and America, the quality of her writing was abysmal. Her grammar, syntax and sentence structure were ghastly. It was full of typos, such as "Professsor." Here is what Christopher Hitchens said about it:
"I direct your attention to Mrs. Obama's 1985 thesis at Princeton University. Its title (rather limited in scope, given the author and the campus) is "Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community."
To describe it as hard to read would be a mistake; the thesis cannot be "read" at all, in the strict sense of the verb. This is because it wasn't written in any known language."

She says she always felt out of place at Princeton, which is perfectly understandable because she was out of place. She was totally unqualified to be there. Even more so at Harvard. Michelle flunked the Illinois bar the first time and bailed out of the legal profession in 1993. She has not been licensed to practice law for almost 20 years. Of course this fact is never revealed in the mainstream press. Likewise, Obama himself has resigned from the Illinois bar and is no longer licensed to practice law...if he ever did so at all. (A deserving white male whose place was taken at Harvard by these affirmative action Negros would have worked in the legal profession for 30-40 years, but Michelle Obama bailed out after only 4 years. How's that for an effective investment of your education dollar?).
You have to understand something about affirmative action blacks...whatever is their declared college major, they always major in the same thing.... being black. They just have to open their mouths and they're celebrities because they are experts on the "black perspective," and on "racism", "Slavery", "white oppression", subtle racism", "explicit racism" "implicit racism", "subconscious racism", "psychadelic racism"...blah, blah, blah. They don't study science, engineering, chemistry, or anything that requires intellectual depth or discipline. They study "sociology" , "political science" or "black studies" where they can B.S their way through because dull witted liberals don't have the guts to tell them to shut the Hell up or to fail them and send them back to the "hood" where they belong.
Affirmative action Blacks can be celebrities in college and in law school, but then they get out into the real world and go to court....guess what? The judge is not always a white liberal or a black, white hating racist. The lawyers on the other side don't give a crap about black celebrityship and they fight like hell. Being black is a great advantage if you're defending black murderers in front of majority black juries (i.e. O.J. Simpson) , but outside of that limited context, you actually have to think and be able to write to succeed in high end litigation. Harvard is a high end school and law firms who hire Harvard graduates are high end firms that represent high end clients and do high end legal work...anti-trust, business, securities, real estate, RICO, etc. They don't typically represent black drug dealers, rapists and cop killers in local criminal court.
The Obamas both bailed out of the legal profession as soon as they could because they were affirmative action losers who rode the affirmative action gravy train to a political position where they could steal more than they could honestly earn.
They're cunning and smart in the feral, criminal low level sort of way, like shop lifters or drug dealers, but are intellectually undisciplined. Just read Dreams From My Father with its psychadelic writing style (among the other countless errors, Obama gets the wrong year for his own wedding
) and Audacity of Hope. Why do you think this guy is always on the teleprompter...without his handlers writing for him, all of his stuff would sound like Michelle's thesis or Dreams From My Father. Read his two books, catalog all the mistakes and misrepresentations and ask this question: If he can't write a competent history of his own life, how did he write about complicated legal and factual issues in practicing law? The answer is: He didn't.
Now they have invited a black poet to the White House to pay tribute to black murderers of white police officers. Just ask yourself this question: What kind of people admire murderers?
