The selfbow that made.

Hey Everyone,   a while back I embarked on making my first longbow, and I finally have some pics!  Made of hickory backed maple, Meare Heath profile, 72" long and the draw weight is 67lbs at 30 inches.  Rattlesnake backing.  Homemade quiver and a dozen of Bob Gosdeck's arrows.  I have been shooing it regularly, and I am very pleased.  Oh yeah, almost an inch and a half of string follow.  Thanks for all of the advise!!

Nice longbow Jeff, the skins really set it off! Congrats on making it yourself. Looks like some nice craftsmanship. 8)

Great-Grandpa taught us boys how to make Hickory stave longbows and arrows from Sourwood sprouts back in the early 60's when I was about twelve. I can assure you they were not as good looking as yours. Nice job.

Thanks for the compliment, she shoots very smooth!  The lack of noticable stacking is the the long length, I think.  I figure that it wouldn't take much with flat limbs to go down to 50 lbs. :D
