We are asked about this caliber a lot.  We have 3 reamer for it now and one more on the way.
  • 38-55 with .395" neck
  • 38-55 with .398" neck
  • 38-55 with .400" neck

The new one on order is a .400" neck also, simply because it seems like someone is always waiting for this reamer.
Thought we should let you guys know what we have for choices with this one.

Does either of the .400 have the replaceable pilot, if not what size is the pilot?

Both .395" necks are floating pilot.
The .398" is floating.
.400" is solid  and the new one on order is a floating pilot.
