Dog jumps off pony...
« on: May 13, 2011, 02:07:10 AM »
   Senate Democrats hailed oil co CEOs to Washington.  Apparently as usual, they expected the CEOs to come hat-in-hand, grovelling..just as the car co CEOs did.  The CEOs did come, and shed a bit of much needed light on the subject.  They were polite,  but generally more firm than many summoned before Senate Democrats are.
   I find it amusing that one of the most avaricious senators at questioning was Sen Jay Rockerfeller (D-WV)...hmmmm.  Anyone care to venture a guess as to where the multi-millionaires of the Rockerfeller family gained their great wealth ?  Anybody remember hearing of John D and Standard Oil ...an old-time company which wrote the book on ruthlessness.
   Obviously, the dems were dismayed that the oil co execs didn't lay down and roll over.  Even the dog refused a ride ! ;) :D ;D

    Senator Hatch (R-utah)..furnished the graphics shown below.

The answer is obvious..cut the tax breaks and we can each pay a dime more per gallon..  Take your choice..

  This was pointed out to the congressional dim-bulbs who claim the oil companies are "gouging" the public:

 E#xxon Mobil says they make 7 cents per gallon on each gallon of gasoline...The federal govt rakes off 60 cents per gallon;
  So, who's "gouging" the public ?

ironglow, exactly.   The part I can't figure out, is why the gov't is so eager to shut down gulf drilling, when they loose so much money in tax revenues?

Every time gas gets near $4 a gallon the bureaucrats drag oil company CEO's  in front of a panel and question them why oil is so high. They are either stupid or are just doing it to show everybody that they are trying to do something about high gas costs. The sad part is many people think that the bureaucrats really do care about high gas costs, because the bureaucrats are questioning oil company CEO's on the cost of oil, when they have nothing to do with the cost of oil. All they do is research, drill for oil, refine it, and deliver it to a gas station so you can fill your vehicle up, for 7-8 cents profit on a gallon of gas.
There are many other companies that make much more profit on their product, but there is no fussing or complaining over their profits.

Pat, it doesn't matter where the oil comes from, government is going to get their tax revenue. The difference is, if we drill for and extract our own oil, and build more refineries, it will bring prices down for the public, and I think the bureaucrats could care less if that happens. Its all part of bringing the economic level of America down to the rest of the world.

  Plus, it will create many hundreds of thousands more jobs...  People will be needed to survey and prepare the fields, build the roads, build the rigs, machine the tools, build refineries, feed and house the oil field workers, truck the oil field gear, food and building supplies etc..
  I believe it would be better if our national administration provided these jobs in the US, rather than in Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela or elsewhere..   But of course we must remember;  Soros wants the United States.... BROKE !!
