I just acuired a Remingtion XP-100 .221 Fireball. So far I have been unable to find out much about this pistol. Remington seems to consider it their red headed stepchild, and thear isn't much mentioned on any of the threads I have been on. Are there any collectors or clubs out there on this pistol? Remington was supposed to send an owners manual, but has not done it. are parts, or acessories still available for this gun?

Howdy!

The xp-100 was introduced back in 1963 in the caliber you have.  It was offered in Standard, Shilhouette, Custom and Hunter variations over the years and in .221 Rem Fireball, .223, .250 Savage, 6 BR, 7 BR, 7-08 and a few others.  I believe they were dropped from the product line in the late '80s,  tho I'm not sure on that.

From what I read in the gun mags, it appears that xp-101's never die, they just get recustomized into new configurations. :-)

Parts?  Try e-gunparts.com; they might have what you need.  Anyone else?

It took them about 3 weeks to get a photo copy of the XP to me.  It was around Thankdgiving and I just figured it was because of the holiday.  This might be the reason you haven't got yours yet.  Give them another week or so and then reorder.

 the coppy of the XP100 owners manual arrived today. I am still in trouble tho, the manual says to push the bolt release to get the bolt out of the reciever, but my gun has no bolt, and I have tried everything I know, to get the bolt out of this gun. It is necessary to get it out to properly clean it and also to get to the rear stock screw.
Well maybe others have had this problem. Now all I have to do is get this straightened out and find a few parts, like a rear sight assembely, and a couple of elevation screws.

Yes you do have a bolt stop, if you didn't the bolt would come right out.

At the rear of the receiver on the left where the bolt slides in and out you should see a flat lever in a slot..  Using a small flat screwdriver push this lever down and pull the bolt out.

My XP has a bolt release button, just in front of the trigger. I press the square release button and the bolts falls out.
On some of the older XP's, the release is where Double D stated.

On the orginal XP100's the bolt release is on the left side on the gun. You have to use something small and flat. I use a small narrow blade screwdriver.  With the bolt open, slide the screwdriver between the bolt and the side of the action. There is a lever in there that needs to be pushed forward while pulling the bolt back.

Sorry guys my XP100 dosn't have any of the mentioned bolt releases. I am realy at a loss, as to what to try next.
