Burris Warranty

I was talking to a friend the other night and we were talking optics , He is or was a Big Burris fan , He had sent a 2X7 back to Burris for repair ( it was not holding zero ) they sent the scope back to him and was told the scope was " over 5 years old and there was not any warranty left" . This has me wondering and a bit worried as I have 3 Burris  pistol scopes . Anyone else herd of this 5 year warranty ?

Neither have I, but there is a 5-year warranty on electronics (like the Lighted Reticle system).  Here's their warranty page:

I did see on there warranty page some scopes do only carry a 5 year warranty and some are lifetime , I was relieved to see that all pistol scopes have lifetime warranty ..........Whew ! I was thinking I was going to send my Burris pistol scopes down the road and only use  Leupolds .

I think you misread it - all of their riflescopes have a Forever warranty.  The only thing in the riflescope that has a 3 or 5-year limited warranty is the electronics (LaserScope / Eliminator, Lighted Reticle Systems (LRS) and Electro Dot).

  FOREVER, LIFETIME and LIMITED WARRANTIES

A. Forever Warranty – Protects Burris products from any defects in materials or workmanship — even if you are not the original owner. Burris will, at our option, repair or replace the item at no charge.

B. Lifetime Warranty – Protects Burris products from any defects in materials or workmanship. Valid only for the original owner. Burris will, at our option, repair or replace the item at no charge.

C. Limited Warranty – Either a 1-Year, 3-Year or a 5-Year warranty. If the product is within the warranty period Burris will at our option, repair or replace the item at no charge.

Burris is not responsible for physical damage to products. This is “not” a defect in materials and workmanship.

1. Forever Warranty on all Fullfield/II, Signature Series/Select, Black Diamond, Euro Diamond, Mini, Compact, Short Mag/Timberline, XTR, and Six X riflescopes.

3. LaserScope / Eliminator
a. Forever Warranty on all optical or mechanical systems.

I have used the Burris forever warranty on a riflescope and a pistol scope without a single question or hesitation.  They are a first rate optic maker in my opinion.

I sent a Fullfield 1.75 X 5 scope back to them in March, got it back in 4 weeks. All fixed, no charge. I bought this scope in 1975.

I had a Burris variable on a Mk V 300 weatherby, long story short, the turret covers were missing, an email to ask if I could buy them, saw a set posted out, with some promo stuff, expess air post, to Australia, FREE OF CHARGE, inc post.

I didnt ask for them for free, I offered my credit card in every email, no charge. I told them the scope was over 20 years old, and I was not the original owner.

Top shelf company in my opinion.
