I was wondering:
I recently read a report of when OBL was interviewed by a Pakistani reporter shortly after 911, he stated that he did not plan the attack and had no knowledge of it until after the fact. Now, OBL has always been quick to claim his participation in other attacks and proud of them, so this could be true. To my knowledge, the FBI was never able to prove he was involved. Supposedly, we went to war in Afghanistan to get OBL. Maybe those in power didn't want a trial for that reason, not wanting the truth to come out. Reason- many are now turning against the war.
Deceitful politics maybe?

Gary G. In this case I do not agree. They didn't know but what he might be wearing an xplosive vest or what else he might do. He was guilty of mass murders and deserved to die. He not only admitted to it but right after 9-11-01 news showed him clapping his hands, jumping for joy, and squeeling like a pig with glee that the towers actually collapsed. Killing him was no different than killing a rabid dog. He deserved a buriel like the animal he was, not like he got. Trying him would have gone on for many years making a whole bunch of lawyers exceedingly rich defending a scum they knew was guilty. The only consolation now is that he is now shark poop at the bottom of the ocean and has joined saddam, arafat, and his beloved pedophile prophet mohamed in hell. Good riddence. A cartoon in the local paper showed osama being carried by a smiling satan going into a room tagged bridal chamber, the shock on osamas face was priceless. POWDERMAN.

In some aspects I agree with you Gary, however in some cases, I believe some folks just need shootin. This OBL thing, I think has been from the very first blown out of proportion, as him being, not just another booger, but THE booger. That he was a piece of crap there is no doubt, but it still makes no sense to execute him if he was so involved in running a world wide terrorist operation, as he would be a wealth of information.
Some say he would not have talked. I say, there are few that won't talk if the correct incentive is applied. I have no real problem with him being dead, but I think Gitmo would have been a interesting place to house this "king of all the boogers" while he was singing his little skinny head off about the others in his gang. Perhaps, the feds WERE AFRAID that he might spill some embarrassing beans.
We truly need to pull our troops from the country known for centuries as "The Graveyard of Empires".

I've seen the video they are referring to, and it appears to me that it is OBL - but the quality of the video was poor enough I'm not positive you can say for sure one way or the other. How do you figure the connection between it being on American stations, and me missing it? I watched the news back then, and had a TV back then. You'll have to explain your reasoning.

Certainly nobody can question your or anyone else's personal views on the sanctity of a human life. It's a personal thing, and I respect that. Having said that, OBL and others like him, who have publically avowed to keep going until the US belongs to Islam, is an enemy of mine. I'm sick of political correctness and turning the other cheek, moralizing over a man with no morals.
It would not have made a difference to me if he was in his night gown watching a porno on tv,eating popcorn, and we dropped a bomb on him. 3,000 + people died in NYC and they were not armed rebellions against Islam. WE OWE THEM, and thousands of men and woman who lay their lives on the line very day. Thank you Navy Seals.

Most here would have shot Osama on the street if he was in their neighborhood, and collected the bounty to boot, probably me included, but that's not the point. Yes, some people need killing...no doubt about it.

The point is...can we bring our soldiers home now? If not, I guess what was the point anyway after all these years of wallowing in the middle east if we can't come home now? Obviously there will be no end to this ever, just more "bad guys"...and that won't end. We must be over there for other reasons. That does not sit well with our constitution or economic situation. Already they are creating more bad guys to look for.
Everybody seems to keep saying we are over there so terrorists don't come here...yet terrorists are already over running our borders. Seems to me we need to bring our military home and use them here on the borders. While we were looking at the middle east...Dearborn Michigan became the Muslim capital here in my state and some of them have already had to be killed right there by the feds...terrorism is alive and well right here by more than one group of people and coming in here in more than one direction, sure hope somebody figures out we need our people home soon.
