Although he was legally licensed to carry openly the police tormented and humiliated him. After finding out they were wrong they turned him loose. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Just another example of why I carry concealed even though open carry is permitted in the state I live in.  Just because you have the right to do something does not mean that it is prudent to do it.

The first one could only talk about how much stress that they were under. Sounds to me that they should quit and get a job as a Walmart greeter.
If they are that stressed out they are the ones that don't need to be carrying a weapon. It ticks me off when they gripe about having to do the job they were hired to do. Someone needs to tell them to either lose the skirt and panties and put their big boy britches on or go home and get mommy to make them a sugar tit.

Absolutely right. Open carry is legal in NC, but it's not cool, IMHO. 25 years ago I sometimes carried Mr. 1911 in Condition One. After a while I realized... just plain stoopied. It doesn't make you safer, except maybe in narrow circumstance it's best not to be in anyhow - it antagonizes people, and that does no good.

Sold that 1911 and replaced with smaller Makarov. Good gun, the Mak, but I wish I had the 1911 now. Dang.

If you're going to carry, carry concealed & discreet. Very discreet. In the last few years I've taken to being a lot less... assertive/mouthy when carrying. Stakes are too high.

Alright, I just heard it. The cops were first class (you know whats). Standard LEO behavior.

And maybe the victim here was baiting the cops... doesn't take much. He's luck he's alive; telling a cop to calm down pisses them off to no end - that's their condescending line, spoken from a position of power.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

I was pulled over one afternoon on my way to work. The cop noticed my shooting box in the back of the truck. He went crazy. Wasn't 10 seconds and i was looking down the barrel of his gun. Pulled out of my truck and told i would be shot if i move. Stuffed the damn cuffs on me and pushed me into his car while he called for back up to search my truck. There wasn't one thing in that box but my rifle rest, sand bags and cleaning equipment. Had my evening blood pressure meds. in a baggie on the truck seat. Got in trouble for that too.
In all fairness i will admit i was pulled over for a reason.  I was arrested for a felony. While i was waiting for this to go to trial the cops waited until i was at work and came into my house and took all my fire arms.
The charges were proven to be false and were all dropped. The person that filed the charges did admit it was all a lie. My long guns were returned but the lousy state of NY revoked my pistol permit. Sorry for my rant but i still get pissed when i think of the way they acted over that box. I lost all respect for cops that afternoon.

Well, here's how it goes:  Squat cops kill innocent civilians in Phoenix, philadelphia cops threaten to kill legal gun owners, new york cops cuff ya and stuff ya whenever they want and now that g-damn liberal supreme court has ruled that cops can enter your home based on smells and sounds.  Here cop, smell this..................

Can we please have the revolution now and get it over with, this crap is rediculous.  60 rounds to kill a innocent man.  I would be surprised if someone out there doesn't even up the score soon - Americans are known for getting even.  Doesn't look like anymore donut breaks for the cops, anywhere for a long time - they will probably hide out in their cars for the next 6 months until they think it has all quieted down and then someone will probably eliminate a entire department just to let them know they haven't forgotten.  Oklahoma comes to mind....  It seems that the only way to control cops these days is to offer them payback.  When they step out of line they don't get to walk away, they get payback.  Now watch some cop try and tell me that's what courts are for - right.  And please don't make me puke with the crap that 'they have to live with their mistake for the rest of their lives' - BS.  I doubt they are even the least bit worried about how anyone thinks about what they did.

Why is it that the thought of those squat cops sitting in a courtroom being tried for the murder of a innocent homeowner reminds me of the picture of those three fat white cops down south who were eating popcorn in the courtroom while on trial for murdering those three civil rights workers during the 60s.  This crap just does not ever end.  Why is it that cops and injustice are so closely linked?  It is not the criminals we should fear, it is the cops who are not trustworthy.

Shot 60 times in his own kitchen by a squat team that comes through the wrong door.  Maybe each of those cops should be forced into manual labor for the rest of their lives to pay for their injustice, support the widow and child.  Or maybe just hang for it and let the sheriff's dept support them for the rest of their lives.  At the least they should all suffer from bleeding stomach ulcers and incurable infections.

After reading the article, there's a lot of information missing. On the one hand, the guy was asking for attention by carrying a gun openly. He did not seem well schooled in how to handle this situation The dialog should have been one of cooperation and then the repeated question "Officer, am I under arrest or am I free to go?" Nothing else needed to be said except the internal directive thing, a presentation of the license, and a refusal to say more without an attorney present.

It's a bad situation for the cops because they have to deal with loonys all the time. However, it appears in this case it was the police that escalated the problem and lost their cool. More like those semi-amateurs who work as security guards than like a seasoned cop. Bad thing for a cop to do.

This article does make the excellent point that video and audio recording of interactions with police is a new and important development that society needs to understand. These recordings have been used to quote scenes out of context, but they are also routinely used to reveal improper police behavior. Turnabout is fair play, I say. The cops have video cameras on their cars and they are recording things all the time. It only makes sense that citizens should do the same.

The corrupt gooberment, operates outside the Constitution and passes illegal laws.
The courts uphold the illegal laws.
Cops enforce illegal laws.

If I am ever on another jury, the accused will get a not guilty verdict from me. The government steals and imprisons. Cops kill unjustly. They get off, why shouldn't "we"? Because its "different"?

Watch any generic cop show and how warrents are served. Does anybody want to tell me why they tear the crap out of a place? Seems its only because they can.Or is it just to get back at all the people that walk out of court?

it is about perpetuating the perception that ''armed people'' are ''bad people''

how many bad people actually  ''open carry''...think about it ..how dumb are the cops

they just want a nation  of  ''sheeple to be shepards over
armed people are more of a THREAT to their job security

sure this guy was  looking for a cop to overstep his bounteries
i am glad he did  and glad  all the others on  you-tube baited them too

if you see a problem with what any of them  did
then  i am to assume you are against  the cops on ''bait car'' too
http://www.phillypolice.com/forms/official-complaint-form/

this guy broke the law........the  cops  ''baited''  him.....
they were looking for some one to steal that car
just as this guy was looking for a cop to break the law
if the cops would have charged the cops for detaining him illegally
then  it would be up to  ''private' citizens

the cops break the law when they ''profile'' armed citizens  with no probable cause

cops breaking the law.....why is the liberal media not all over this

when drugs are outlawed only out laws will have drugs
DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO STOP A DEMOCRAT

I have thought the same thing.

You got it right - because they can. Right & wrong has nuthin' to do with it.

The whole routine of humiliating people - making them get on their knees, lie on the grounds, interrupting them - that's just part of the cop gig. Sucks, don't it?
cops breaking the law.....why is the liberal media not all over this
Here's a truism, one that I've experienced personally:
Sometimes a conservative is a liberal who got mugged; and
Sometimes a liberal, is a conservative who got arrested.

Maybe, but he had every right to do so without being verbally and physically attacked then falsely arrested by badge wearing morons who are allowed to disregard laws and and Constitutional rights.

The failure is with the police. And I don't necessarily mean the individual officers. This is more likely a symptom of an organizational failure with the department. Employing cops that escalate potentially dangerous situations is a real problem. It says a lot about the department and the police chief.

These were not the actions of Law Enforcement Officers theses were the actions of thugs that happen to be employed by the police dept.
I know almost every LEO in a 3 county area from my years of running wreckers many of them are my friends. I hunt with 2 of the finest. Most of them are a credit to the dept in which they work , sadly to many are just thugs with badges. I have no patients for the latter type and locally they know I will not take any of their crap. Many years ago when I was young and prone to having a short fuse, I dang near killed one them and would have if not for a friend of mine that happen to be the scumbags supervisor on the PD.  When a person uses a badge as a bully shield I think that their carcass should be left hanging from fence post like mangy coyote.

But y'all remember the next time you run on a  true LEO thank him tell him to be careful and have a good day.

I've found it best to just cooperate with an officer. Even when I think he's wrong. Best to let your attorney do the arguing for you later. Argue or don't cooperate with them and you just give them more ammo to nail you with. Not much sense in that. A false arrest or harassment suit will get you farther than your digging a hole that previously didn't exist and which definitely turns the tide making you look the bad guy.

Someone told me the Michigan State police had to send out letters to some cities and counties reminding them that open carry was legal and to back off...they seemed to back off in the places they needed to or at least that was the story floating around after they paid out money they did not have for people they arrested.  Open carry got better after a few people start doing it, now there are a couple of people who ride the public bus who open carry in these parts, but it's rare.  People get used to it, and some cops learn the hard way that they have to know the laws and enforce them.  They don't have enough money to keep paying citizens for their trouble when they tackle them in the street for open carry.  Gets expensive.

I carry concealed in most all public places, once in a great while I carry open in country settings, one horse town maybe, but most the time I feel I'm better off if nobody knows as it gives me advantage over most situations, including ignorant police officers.  I am under no obligation to let a police officer know I'm armed unless I'm pulled over in a traffic stop. I like it that way.  If someone wants to parade around and do it for show or to make a statement, they are only asking for a very weak minded police officer to challenge them.  Most good officers would just laugh at them, and most do.  I guess if your looking to find an idiot with a badge, there is no better way to look for him.  Lucky for me, the cops around here know the laws...the big city down the road, they make their own laws sometimes  ;)....I'm too old to go play there.  :)

I have my CCW so I carry concealed. Here in Missouri, if you have a CCW, you MUST carry concealed any time you carry. Even out in the country outside city limits. I open carry on my own property but I'm not so sure but what they could give me grief for doing so. Too many laws are wide open to interpitation.
