Redfield 2x7
« on: May 18, 2011, 10:43:36 AM »
are they any good ? I was going to buy one for a BLR and I'm afraid it is too big for the gun. Also this rifle has a wide hammer and I cannot find a trigger spur for it, any help appreciated.

I bought three of them for me and my two boys Handi .308`s and they work great!!
These are actually manufactured under the Redfield banner through Leupold factory.

I've got one too. I had it on a 336 Marlin first. I thought it fit perfectly. Put it on my Tikka T3 308 & like it a lot. For the money & warrantee I think they are hard to beat.

Are you talkin about the old Redfields or the new ones. The old ones were built like a tank and very good optics for their day. Redfield was Leupolds main compitition. I have three 2x7 wide fields and one 3x9 standard optic scope. They sit on my Handi Rifle barrels.  Alas technology has advanced and their optics aren't not as good  as some of the newer scopes on the market. As for the newer Redfields, I read a lot about their windagse and elevators being weak. I believe I saw the coments not too long ago on this website.

I have two of the 2-7x33mm's Good Scope for the money. I have one of each style reticle and like both. Good glass, good eye relief, nothing here not to like. I see the price has gone up since I purchased mine. But if you use Cabelas discount promos you can save a little.
