Which barrel for the barrel insert?

I am looking to install a barrel insert in a drilling.  Which barrel would be best to install the insert?

I have seen the barrel insert mentioned several places in this forum but don't know much about them.  Do these inserts only come from the manufacturer or is this something that a gunsmith can do aftermarket?

You can buy factory barrel inserts and have them fitted by your gunsmith, but they are expensive. Costing as much as a 22 rifle for the better ones. There are a couple of USA made ones available that are cheeper but I hear their accuracy is not always as good.

I have 3 one in each of my drillings. 2 short tubes and a long tube. All mfg. by kreighoff. Mine all work very well.

Thanks for the reply.  I haven't done that much looking yet but so far I have not seen a place to buy the Kreighoff models but did see one vendor in Alaska.
