How many bells iz 1300?     Great looking Howie!  I bet the UPS man would complain if he had to deliver that.

I forgot to mention , the finished weight is 142 lbs.

That's barrel only or barrel plus carriage?

I bet the UPS man would complain if he had to deliver that.

I don't think UPS will take packages that heavy; at least, not the package UPS.  UPS Freight would probably take it.

It would probably have to go in 2 packages. I just had something delivered that weighed 80 lbs. from UPS.
My Dom Parrot was delivered in multiple boxes.

I think 120 lbs is the UPS limit , anything over 70 lbs is overweight .

Fixed your link and the wait was worth it.

1000 grains is a good proof load.  Switliks chart says 260 grains max for a working load.

Tomorrow at 1300 Douglas .  ;D ;D

Hmmm.  I was in the Artillery - that's "one-three-hundred hours, over".

My military training way back in the olden days stated that if you used the word over to an Arty guy , he would do it again...I could get with that.

No.  The conversation would be: "one-three-hundred hours, over" with the response "one-three-hundred hours, out".  The whole thing echoed to ensure accuracy.

The restricted word is "repeat".   By saying "repeat, over" (and the response "repeat, out") the same firemission would be repeated.  That is to say if the call for fire had been Battery 2 rounds, HE & WP in effect, on the word "REPEAT, over" the entire battery would fire another 6 rounds of HE and WP  another two times at the same target.

SO, to avoid that from being misunderstood, "Say again, over" is used.  (And I would always say: "Say what? over".)

"On the way, wait " , I recall this from Ft.Sill days back in 1960 . The FO would then send back corrections .
I was a crew leader on a 105 . We fired fire missions for the 90 Day wonders . Memory is failing  :<(
Ah yes , If we were close the FO would say "fire for effect "
Always we would fire bracket shots , One long , one short  and the rest on the money .

Or the short form (from the FDC to the FO): splash, over; with the response from the FO acknowledging the heads-up: splash, out.
