327 Mag
« on: May 19, 2011, 07:57:46 PM »
Someone tell me what they are good for.  My favorite gun pusher put one in my hand yesterday and now it's waiting for me to fill out the papers and bring her home.  Stainless Blackhawk, 8 shot, (chambers are polished to a mirror finish), and a sweet trigger.  Well, never owned a .32 before, guess that's enough of a reason.  DP

fine gun for targets and varmits out past 50 yards. Plenty hard hitting and very flat shooting for a handgun

After looking for ammo, brass, dies ect., I told Jim to put it back on the shelf.  My 7.62X25, 9mm, 357's will work all around it, couldn't justify the $ for another toy to not get used enough.  DP

I sure like mine, its a hard hitting cartridge thats cheap to feed using a 100 gr. SWC plain base & a 125 gr gas check LBT. Just use 32 mag dies, you can get brass from Freedom Arms & factory ammo is available from most dealers now, our local dealer just got in a case of the American Eagle stuff, 100 gr jacketed, 50 round boxes.
Mine gets shot a lot on ground squirrels & rock chucks, fast & flat shooting.

The good news is it went to a good home.  There was a standing offer on the 327 or the next one brought in.  I'm sure it's a great little cartridge, would be sweet in a rifle as well.  DP

To me the 327mag and the 41mag are examples of solutions for which there is no problem. Many other fine cartridges also fit this description. They shoot well but are really products of merchandising. If you can afford them, own them all.

Another consideration is that any .327 Mag. revolver can also fire .32 H&R Mag. and .32 S&W Long as well as .32 Short cartridges, much as any .22 Long Rifle revolver can also fire .22 Long and .22 Short cartridges.   So you have numerous ammo option for various situations.
