Hi All,
It is almost done, least ways done enough to shoot! Have to refinish the metal, decide what stock set & optics I want and do all the accurizing stuff. Anyway, it is a Green Mountain 45ACP barrel blank, turned down to fit inside a 20 ga pardner barrel. D/T for a custom scope rail (cutoff #82 weaver that has been redrilled - maybe a profino?
). The GM barrel is epoxied into the host 20 ga barrel and has a rim on it so it will stay put. Finished barrel is 18 11/16" I think.
The target below was shot this afternoon in my backyard off the hood of my F150. Not exactly rested. The 2 holes at the top are 200 grain LSWC, loaded for my wife's 1911. The group around the 1" bullseye is 200 grain HP/XTP factory 45 Super from the now defunct Texas Ammo Co. It chronys 1260 FPS out a 5" 1911, will chrony it out of the Handi later. The two holes touching where shots 1 & 2. On the third shot the gun popped open because the "rookie" didn't close it hard enough.
Anyway just over 1" @ 50 yards with a pop open so it is showing potential. Going to finish the gun, do the accurizing stuff and head to range next week and see what I can do at 100 yards.
BB
PS: Almost forgot, the 45 ACP reamer will be headed to Tim next week to go into the GBO/H&R rental reamer fleet. George (gjdykeman) gave me a good deal on the reamer so I am passing it on to the next guy.
