Sub-Sonic .22 Mag Ammo ?
« on: May 21, 2011, 02:40:34 PM »
I see that Aguila makes a 60 gr. subsonic .22 LR round and CCI makes a 40 gr segmented hp .22 Lr round but I have not seen any maker of .22 mag subsonic ammo. Any one know of any out there ? Sometimes quieter is better for relations with the neighbors at 2am with racoons in the garden.

None that I know of for the .22 mag.
You do know that you can also shoot the old .22 WRF round on of the mag, right. I don't know off hand if it is subsonic or not, but since it is closer to .22LR, it should be a step in the right direction.

IIRC, .22WRF is rated at about 1350fps. FWIW, the WW Dynapoint 45gr. flash plated, not jacketed, HP is rated at 1550 and I get 1500ish out of my H&R .22M UV, chrono'ed. I know of no sub-sonic .22M loads, though Augila makes a lot of stuff others dont,; should check their website.
