Ruger #1 be re-barreled with an octagonai barrel?

Can a Ruger #1 or #3 be rebarreled with a tapered octagonal barrel?  I have been told that it doesn't work out too well.

yes it can be done. Did you har a reason why the rebarrel didn't work out well? There are size limits but aren't there on everything.. What are you considering building..

Shouldn't be a problem with those.. The N0.1 (and No3) either would work well. The main difference is the under lever style. The No,3  was produced in 30-40 but has been ouit of production for many years and most are gobbled up by collectors.. Good luck with the project..
