Shot my new 223

Picked up a handi 223 put a bsa 6-18x40 scope on and went to the range...Shot pretty good once I got it sighted in 1.5in. at 100 first time out...This is my third H&R (BC,308,223)...Dicks has a 22-250 camo with scope for $239.00 I think its going to be #4 lol.Gettin the Handi fever...

I got a new 223 too... my dealer had a few in stock but only one of them was a Gardner gun, the rest were Ilion made. It's funny but the Gardner gun had the best wood on it and the trigger is smooth as glass so that's the one I bought. It's a 2008 production gun from the serial number so it's got the 1 in 9 barrel. I've been shooting 55gr. ammo in it to break it in and so far it's a great shooter.
I'm looking forward to developing some loads with heavier bullets and shooting a deer with it this fall. ;)

Spanky, mine is a Gardner too s#HY the wood is dark and nice. Is there any differance in barrels mine shoots good just asking i'm new to Handi's. But every H&R I have is a shooter.

Yours has the same HY prefix as mine so they should be the same. The stocks on mine are dark too with very nice grain... the stocks on the Ilion guns were alot lighter in color and very plain looking. I do like the newer recoil pads though, they seem to be softer material.
