My New to me M1 Garand
« on: May 29, 2011, 04:33:54 PM »
Just received my M1 from CMP. Looks like new. Was supposed to of been service grade H&R but came with new stock and the parkerizing looks great. I highly recommend ordering one wile you still can. The carbines are out of stock and the prices have gone through the roof on them.

Congrats Doug!!  One of my Garands came from the CMP via the guy I bought it from.  Supposedly it was "hand picked".  He planned on competing with it in one of the Garand clubs but that never came about.  It is tight and the barrel is in new condition.  I know you're gonna love yours.

I think yours being an H&R is a bonus, as I believe they are a little harder to come by than a Springfield.  In addition to the literature that you got from CMP, get Scott Duff's book too.  Lots of great information there.
