weight pallet wood vs synthetic
« on: May 30, 2011, 12:15:22 AM »
How much weight would be lost swapping from pallet wood monte carlo/ schnable forend to synthetic monte carlo & forend?

Are the synthetic sidekick forends still available?  I like the longer forend, and understand it would have to have the screw hole redrilled.

I have a 223 bull, and it's plenty heavy.  Also thinking of cutting the barrel back to a little over 16".   I think it would make for  a nice "truck gun"

I believe there's only a 3-4oz difference between the two stocks in question. I would venture to say most of your questions may be answered already and found in the FAQs. ;)
