Christmas in June...woohoo
« on: May 31, 2011, 04:36:39 PM »
I just got a 223 BB that I purchased from Fred M.  It fits better than the 7-08 that came on the frame originally!  I am assuming that this isn't unheard of but definitely not common?  I have went through every thread of barrel fitting advice there is and it checks out.  Havn't had a chance to see if it'll hit a primer like it should, but that'll come tommorrow!

Oh it happens frequent enough. Some guy's won't fit a barrel, they simply have several frames and try barrels on different frames till they fit

That is exactly what I do.  I keep 3 spare frames to try new barrels on.  Of all the Handis you see below my signature, as of this date, none are shimmed or tweaked.  Some were originally, but as I acquired more frames, I was able to swap barrels around until they all fit.  I too have been very lucky with the barrels I bought here.  My big problem is I have three frames and 3 stock sets......what barrels to put on them.  I'm kinda lusting after a .32-20 for one.  Perhaps a .444 and a 22" 12 ga.

Good luck with the .223, they're shooters.

The 32-20 is a great handi caliber and one of my cherished calibers... Larry does a fine job building them!!
