My 3 new smiths
« on: June 02, 2011, 06:34:36 AM »
It was a good week! 3 new smiths.

The bull to the left is  a 586 357. Has a arist-crat top, gunsmith unknown, some blue wear as it was a shooter, prob PPC. The action and trigger work is crazy smooth. Maybe the smoothest  I own.

Second is a Fred Schmidt 38, made to shoot wadcutters only. Note the smaller cylinder and long barrel throat. Fit is amazing.

Third is a 38spl by 'glen custom' also very cool.

Two 38s are mdl 10

Sure looks like a PPC collection.  A nice collection, but is also shows how the competition switch from practicial street carry.  It would be nice to have any of the three for the PPC shoots at my club.

Let 'em be shot---it will not hurt them.
Give a background of how you came into possession---well, unless it was B&E.
Would be fun to have one--but--all three is a great big damn. Good work.
Blessings

Lol, no b+e. I got the 586 from a local dealer. He had it maybe 2 yrs ago. I saw it then but never made the leap to buy it. He sold it, then it came back as owner needed cash. It was cheap,250 bucks. After I got it, I told a fellow shooter about it. I said it was the smoothest gun I had felt. He opened his safe and said , try these. Worked a trade and now had 2 38s.

I have shot the 357. It will out shoot me,  as expected. It is a pleasure to shoot. Once I load up some 38s I will give them a try. I buy them to shoot, so no more safe queens for the 38's
