I've got a chance to buy a ROA stainless 7.5"/adjusable sights like new condition. He wants $280. I think he'll come down. What's a good price? It's a private sale

I would think that is already a good price, but if he will go down then..............well go for it. Especially if it is like new. I have 4 of them and I had to buy them new and for a lot more than that and mine are fixed sights models 7 1/2 and 5 1/2 barrels.

I  looked at rugers site and they list for around $500 new. What is the realistic price new?

Yup, $400 for the fixed sights models is the going rate. Adjustable maybe a few bucks less, it is due to demand, not really list price. Seems more want the fixed sight models. CAS?
I had to be the first on my block when I bought a pair of 5 1/2 stainless models and I paid $900 for them. I could get them cheaper now, for sure, but you know how that is. I got a pair of 71/2s a few years back in blued for just under $800.
I will tell you they are stout. I never have problems and I did change my nipples in the blue ones, but that is it and I use them a lot. About 30 rounds thru each pistol per week.
