A real conspiracy
« on: June 11, 2011, 11:34:15 AM »
A year or so ago I was in walmart down in Fla. and saw a pepsi throwback in the cooler, bought it, wow what a taste!!! and recently drank a mt. dew throwback, great.
now to the conspiracy.  remember new coke?  cocacola came out with that mess which caused all the coke-heads, me included, to raise a big fuss.  so cocacola said, we're so sorry, we'll bring back the old coke and call it "classic"  big lie.  the SUGAR was replaced by corn syrup.
now when my carbondioxide level falls low I will buy a pepsi when I have the choice. I only drink coke when nothing else is available or drink tea.
them boys cheapened a great product and think we fell for it.

Remember when Coke was actually coke(laced with the real thing)?

1885 it was a medicine....now it's just another lame soft-drink.  Such is life.......

BUGEYE we agree on something.

farmboy, yeah some things are universal.  like coke with sugar.  pepsi didn't lie to us so they can do throwbacks without causing a firestorm.   coke however, don't want to admit they cheated us.
if you get a chance, buy a throwback. it leaves a tingle on your tongue that coke can't match.

:) Howdy! I have never heard of the term "throwback" for soda water. What exactly does it refer to? Always, Gene

pepsi made a short run using SUGAR instead of corn syrup and called it throwback.
there is no sweetener that can compare to real sugar.  blind taste tests have proven it.
if you get the chance, buy it.

Go to a Mexican store get the imported Mexican coka cola in the returnable bottles, yummy.

yeah, mex coke is sweetened with sugar but when you find it, it's expensive.
I found 3, 12-packs of throwback last week and I'm going back this morning and see if they have more.  I'll buy all they have.
