You did a fine job with the pics, Cat; and I'm glad you all had a great time (some nice artillery pieces).
I'm also relieved to know that you finally got around to awarding  Richard's (The Not Happy About It) donated prizes at this years shoot. ;)  Maybe I'll drop the curmudgeon a line to see if this news has the power to arouse him from his slumbers.  :) ;D :D
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Thanks, John.  I hope he's well.  The awards were WELL received.
I think it was Bruce that donated a can of Goex for a prize of mortar marksmanship.

Let me add that we had MAXIMUM cooperation here.

Just two rules:
a) powder over there, shooting over here and
b) the firing person appointed his safety officer who's SOLE responsibility was to keep us all alive.

You will see good examples of procedures in the pictures.

  • Let them get just a little closer...
Thanks for the pictures Tim, Carol says thank you for the compliment too (dark looks in my direction, why can't you......). Yeah that's my 50 cal box. Keep or give the powder to some deserving souls, I'll pay for return shipping on the rest.   BTW that's my Poolball and can Coehorns you pictured.   I also thank you for not mentioning the fact that I managed to screw up the four Krupp Mortar opening barrage due to a loading sequence error, better luck next time.
We both had a great time and enjoyed the fine company and food (rib eyes no less!).  How often do you get a gracious host who's hobby is cooking for other folks?  Many thanks to the property owners for allowing us to come and shot. Best Regards, LS & Carol.

That's Mr G's SEMI 1919A4 shortened a bit.  Depending on the pix either a 1911 or a vintage Artillary Luger.

so?  now that everyone is looking at the pics,   who is coming next year,  who have we talked into coming.?  I know i am.
It was a blast, I plan to make a whole weekend out of it tho, no more shooting allday then driving for 300 and some miles home.   we need toget together more then just once a year to shoot. maybe we can find another place to shoot so we dont take advantage of any one land owner.
what a wonderful place to shoot tho,  it was great.   thanks tim for arranging all of this.

Rick -  Thanks, this indeed was MY pleasure.

The size is about as big as it should be.  Any larger and one looses the personal contact amoungst the folks participating.

We certainly can do this more often - perhaps closer to the beach?

First I want to say I had a great time and enjoyed good company of good people.

Zulu,
That my friend is my carry gun a Para Ordnance P-14-45 I had just refinished it a month or so back
and while there I did shoot it ..... :o that is after removing the firing pin safety which malfunctioned
and kept the firing pin from striking the primer.... those added non John Browning bits & pieces could
get a person killed! at least I only had to suffer embarrassment of it not firing under friendly circumstances.

CW where is the photo of Carol wearing her special had during the opening ceremonies?  :D

More photos! and no I don't have any I forgot my camera......
[\b]
Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

Wow! looks like a great event. I would have been there If I hadn't been attending a workshop in Georgia - the site is less than a 3 hour's drive from my house. Hope to make it next year!

Pic #157 has little blue canisters with white tops.  They look like Cadweld shot canisters.  What a good idea.
