New (used) tri-pod and Columbia Spotting Scope.
« on: June 16, 2011, 07:59:48 AM »
Last Saturday the wife had some work related business, with a photo shop.  As I was waiting for her, the owner of the shop and I were talking. I ended up buying a Bogen tri-pod and head that he had taken in used. This is a heavyduty tri-pod. I Got home and put it under my Columbia Backcountry, 20-60x80, spotting scope that I bought from Camera Land a while back. There is no wiggle, even at 60X, the tri-pod really made a huge difference at higher powers. The scope is better than I thought I was. The disadvantage is that the tri-pod is to heavy to use as a portable, but around the yard it is great. My thoughts are that if someone was looking for a good tri-pod that checking out camera stores, for used professional equipment, is a good idea. I paid $60 for the tri-pod.
