odd glock problem
« on: June 18, 2011, 02:33:05 PM »
Ok I have a ghost 3.5 rocket trigger I go to put it in and when te gun is straight up or tilted to the left it will fire but if the gun is tilted to the right it won't fire. Anyone have and idea of what i hve to tweak? I borrowed a lone wolf 3.5 trigger and that one works fine. So I'm at a loss. I've adjusted aka filed down so it fired but like I stated it won't fire tilted to the right or in my left hand it won't fire. if in my left hand if I ush the trigger hard to the right it will engage. If I push the trigger to the right with my right hand it won't fire. Any info would be awesome.

Wish I could help you. Without being able to put my hands on the gun I'd just be guessing. Obviously something wrong with the GR Connector, as the gun works ok with the LW one. I've avoided the GR connectors because of the way they limit  over travel. They may work fine when properly fitted, but seem a little Mickey Mouse to me. I use the LW connector and the LW "Ultimate Over travel stop" in my Glocks as part of my trigger work. Works great and easy to adjust over travel. I can only suggest you remove the slide, manually reset the trigger, and watch what happens with the trigger bar and connector. You may be able to see the problem and correct it. Good Luck.

I got the problem figured out, the 90 degree bend on he connector that the trigger rod rides on and gets pushed down wasn't bent ov er enough to catch he trigger rod consistantly. I gave it more area for the trigger rod to ride on and solved the issue.

After having to tweak the connector, be sure to check it out to insure the gun is safe. Make sure the striker doesn't release when you slam in a mag. How is the trigger now that the connector has been modified? I'm not too sure I'd trust that connector----------- Hope it works out well for you.

It is a light pull about the same as my M&P pistol with a apex sear. I"m going to have to get to the range to mess with it as far as safety issue. I bought a ligt power sprng set for it as well to make it lighter but now that I've play'd with it some I don't know if I'd go lighter I might try the spring kit with the factory 5lbs connector ad see how I like it. The purpose of this gun is to be a truck gun and to dispatch game if needed up to maybe black bear if I run into one.  LOL I have a 500 smith but I'd get odd looks if I ever got pulled over with it in the truck and the glock 20 is a bit easier to weld inside the truck.

You often get bear inside your truck?

LOL not inside the truck just outside I've been heading up north (I live in maine) alot more lately kayaking canoeing fishing and such. Figuring that the 500 is twice the lentgh or better along with twice the weight unloaded let alone loaded. The 10mm seems to be the ticket. Plus if I had to touch off one or the other at something outside  the truck I'll gladly  take the 10mm over the my 500. Besides I'm not s worried about getting mud on the glock.

But if it's a clean bear (not a muddy one) that gets in your truck, you'll use the 10mm? I'm really confused now.  :o
