5.4l Ford spark plug change
« on: June 20, 2011, 01:53:28 PM »
How in heck do get #8 out? Ford puts every dang thing possible right in the way and we use a 5/8" socket and we can not get this thing to slip over and grip at all. Ford changed this out in 2004 and its time to be changed again but we can not get any socket, including super thin walled custom made " grinder" socket and it just will not get down over the sides of the plug and engage.

Any thoughts?

98 ford f250 under 8500 gvw and 7 lug wheel studs.

same problem on my 97 460. think I'am going to try through the wheel well after stripping off the inner  cover. May have to use a universal joint  to make this work.
Deceased due to a 3rd stroke on Dec. 12, 2011.
