Local Shooting
« on: June 22, 2011, 04:22:36 PM »
Localy, a 68 year old woman came home to find a strange pickup truck in her driveway. She then noticed her door open and went inside to find a strange man in her bedroom. The man waved a gun saying he was going to shoot her. The elderly woman said," Yeah, well I've got a gun too!" and fired a  shot hitting the 24 year old man in the chest. The man managed to run out as she fired two more shots, both missing. He escaped with a 21 year old woman in the truck but the elderly woman gave a good description of the truck which was stolen out of Arkansas. Sherrif's Deputies found them half a mile away and the wounded man was airlifted to the hospital. The woman with him is now sitting in jail. The elderly woman has a Conceal Carry Permit and the Sheriff said no charges will be filed against her. We have the Castle Law here. :)

Here's a pic of her firearm. She told everyone later, " This is my house and I've got the right to protect it!" Granny wasn't playin' !!!!!

First, 68 is in the range of hot babes for me, so stop making her sound like some decrepit geezerette. Second, she's got really good taste in guns. Third, she exhibited quantifiably that she can outshoot most cops that are in situations like that. Fourth, if that's the cool gun she had handy, I'd like to see the rest of her collection.

"The elderly woman has a Conceal Carry Permit and the Sheriff said no charges will be filed against her."
The question is:  Why would charges even be brought up?  She was in her own home and was being confronted by a real and immediate threat.  If she hadn't had a permit would he have brought charges against her?
Thanks for the stump

charges would be brought up because... that's what prosecutors do. Never forget that for many of them, it's ain't about justice, it's about winning, and the number of cases won in the question for next move up the ladder.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

I agree. The down side for Granny is that she will probably (almost guaranteed) have to defend herself against a civil suit brought against her by the person she shot. If she had killed him all his relatives, citing what a good person he actually was, would sue her. Maybe not if her state has Castle Doctrine.

Just west of Arkansas in TX & OK you are shielded from prosecution by the Castle Doctrine and Make My Day laws.
Someone breaks into your home you shoot them and there's no recourse for scumbag or family.

In Ga. you don't even have to see a gun or knife.  you are allowed to assume he's gonna do you harm and start shooting.   as it should be.

Yep, that's her holding her pistol that she shot him with. She did right too. They are now saying she fired the second and third shot when he jumped in his truck as he was still armed. Her first shot, inside her home, is the one that hit him. He had jumped behind a door for cover and she shot him through the door!

No, as I said we have the Castle Law and that gave her the right to not only defend herself but her property as well. The point of mentioning she has a Carry Permit was simply to explain why she had a gun on her person when ariving home. She had been grocery shopping. She was legal carring it.
