shooting the old howatt superD
« on: June 24, 2011, 10:55:44 AM »
Hey All, got out my now older Howatt recurve bow an did some shooting. Been testing these carbon arrows out " just to see" don't you know. Anyway, they sure fly pretty sweet from this dandy old recurve! Not sure I would actually hunt with them, but with the 125grain fp they shoot good! This howatt pulls in around 40# and is a 60inch red elm beauty! Thanks! scout4<><

Those old bows will surprise you sometimes!
What was the distance that you shot that group? What kind of carbons are those?
My youngest son and I are patiently waiting on our two new recurves from Cascade Archery to be delivered in July!!

Not to far actually, about 12 paces. I mainly was trying these arrows just to see how they would work out of the old bow. The arrows are beman bowhunter 500 spine carbon. 31" with 3 left wing left helical feather fletch. 125grain fp. Good shooting with your new bows to you and your son! scout4<><
