T-C holster straps???
« on: June 26, 2011, 03:55:08 AM »
I bought one of the $20 close-out leather holsters from T-C for a 10" scoped Contender.  It's a great value as the thing probably cost T-C more than $20.  Question: It came with two leather straps riveted together.  One is maybe 2' x 1 1/2" with a Chicago screw on one end, and the other strap is 1/2" x maybe 3' with a metal hook on the adjustable end and with the other end riveted to the wider strap.  Anyone know how they work or maybe have a link to a picture of someone wearing the holster?  It's a puzzlement!

Thanks, John B!  I'd've been this time next year figuring out those straps without the pictures!

I think you can also wear it on your belt as a crossdraw holster.
Thanks,
John B.

Kinda like fighting with an octopus, ain't it... I generally have to get help with mine, due to arthritis...

I`m glad somebody came up with good instructions! Ihave had one for almost 25 years and never could get it fixed! So it stayed in the dresser draw!  Now I can finally get some use out it! :-[ :-[

I think we've figured out why T-C quit selling the holster--no sales due to no instructions.  One 5 cent brochure with each holster would have saved lots of guys lots of trouble. A fellow sure won't recommend a holster he can't figure out how to use!

I like the leather T-C holster a lot after I got the straps figured out.  But there's a problem.  It smells strongly of treated leather. I can smell it at 6" which means a deer could smell it at 60 yds.  It'd be useless in the thickets where I like to hunt, because sometimes the deer get close enough to stab with a knife, if I was dumb enough to do such a thing.  I believe I'll make my own thicket holster if I can think of a design.  I'm thinking maybe hang it butt-forward from the left side of my always-carried backpack.

Good thought on making one connected to your backpack or just get a Maxpedition pack and carry it on your left side as some of the packs already have a built in area for your pistol or revolver. These are single strap packs and fairly versatile. Good color assortment to match those woods around Tullos!!

OK I'm a dummy...

I ordered one of these holsters from T/C.  Got it fine.
Kept the picture of how the strap worked....somewhere.

Yeah I lost it.  Want to use the holster now but the link does
not show how like the original.

Help.  Anyone?

Thx,
