I used to load the 32s&w long with hornady lswc crimped over the front of the band. I was using data below max of both speer and lyman. I was using Unique. I got velocities way above the books. The newer books use less. I may have finally got the lead out of the barrel. I use the lee modern minie reversed in my  500s&w handy rifle light loads. I did this partly to take up space. I seat it flush over 6.4 grains of unique. seems to work OK.

The case capacity of the .41 Magnum and the .44 Special is the same (35gr). The .41 Magnum can nearly equal, if not actually equal, the .44 Magnum with some loads. Just an observation.
