Caring about greece
« on: June 29, 2011, 05:29:23 PM »
People keep telling me I should care about the problems in Greece. Impossible! I could not care less about some corrupt Podunk country that has nothing to offer, but only wants to take, take take.

As a first reaction that would be true for a majority of people on this side of the Atlantic. The sad fact remains that because of all the joining of the hips with the IMF and sundry other financial connections Greece and the EU are not isolated from affecting the US currency.

They instituted a 55 yr. old retirement program; have one of the largest entitlement programs in all of Europe; the private manufacturing segment is basically nil; income is basically - tourism, olive oil, some vegetables; and local fishing.  Greece has overspent financially and there is simply no money left.....and people are rioting because in order to get a loan from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund - they have been asked start some austerity measures to cut down on spending.

Where do the rioters think the money is going to come from?  Fall out of the sky...??

Let's not forget that Greece was railroaded into the EU despite the fact that they did not meet the financial requirements. It was a feel-good gesture to let Greece in, and now Europe and the world pays the price. Kick them out if they don't meet the requirements.

You should care.  The people who destroyed Greece are working the same plan on the US.
A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.   John F. Kennedy

Yeah but thirty million tiny businesses running out of basements and garages and running "out of pocket" might toss a monkey wrench in their plans.
Big business will gladly roll as they've always rolled, as long as the new powers that be will squash their competition just like the old powers that be did, which is why we're in this boat in the first place.

It is all part of the real estate Pyramid and will fall eventually to the point that property value is related to the "profit" generated by the property. Houseing rideing an the ability of the buyer to pay. One small bank in Germany was the first to fall and started the colapse of the 20s & 30s. ear
