New holster finished!
« on: July 01, 2011, 06:12:34 AM »
I decided I needed a holster for my Ruger Single Six.  Here it is!   ;D  BTW, it's my first holster and also my first attempt at lining.  I used 2 - 2.5 oz. leather for the liner.

Really nice work!

Nice Richard. Now you need a matching belt. ;)

Is that a plate stand?

Thanks guys!

Yes Jim, Kathie saw what I was doing and suggested I use the stand.  Worked pretty well!   ;D

You read my mind about the belt!  I've got a heavy one I use for my BP revolvers.  It's a little darker color so I'm going to try to strip the finish and some of the dye off, then redye it to see if I can get it to match the holster.  If not I'll probably just live with whatever color I end up with.   :-\

I am going to line it and stamp on the same border though!

This leather work is kinda fun.  I get home from work and sit down in the man cave for a while working on my projects and it clears my mind of the days activities.

I still have to get my small garage set up for woodworking though.  I've got a lot of those projects backing up!  Including that boat!   ;D
