Doug, do you still have a market for film cameras?

Wow that's amazing. I never use mine anymore but then I really don't use my digital cameras like I did back when I was shooting film. I got one of the Cannon A1 cameras not long after they came out as best as I recall. I liked the option of setting shutter speed or aperture and letting the camera do the rest or if I wanted to let it do both or neither.

It's been too long to be 100% sure but I'm pretty sure it came from Camera Land a long time ago. Even back then the body only cost almost as much as the really nice DCs do these days. I hate to think of all the bucks I tied up in it with all the lens and a flash that set me back close to $150 a really lotta years ago.

I still like the ability to focus manually which neither of my DCs will do inspite of me buying the second cuz that was supposed to be a function of it. Still it might do it if I was smart enough to figure it out. These dang digital cameras have left me lacking in understanding. I knew how to do about all my camera could do in the film days but no more.

Bill, I've still got 2-3 film cameras around here. One is a cannon a-1. In 1991 it died on me on a trip up the alcan highway. Sent it back to cannon for service, they cleaned it & I used it until I quit shooting film.
I believe I'm now on my 3 or 4th digital camera. They are not worn out but I've upgraded as technology changes. I have a Nikon now. And I like it. Some of the new point & shoot cameras are really something. My middle daughter shoots cannons and has a small pocket model the size of a small fly box. Boy does it take good pictures. I took it on a fishing trip down the keni river last October  and it toon some wonderful pictures of the trip. Not sure with the new point & shoot cameras that a guy even needs a SLR anymore.
