Now that's a real sweetheart...and so cool and collected !  One might say Daddy loves her even more now...but I doubt that, surely he loved her a "heart full" even before that incident..

It sort of restores one's faith in humanity when a five year old can exhibit   intelligence and calm resolve in a high stress situation.  She's one in a million.

Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Reminds me of a time when my daughter was around that age (she had not started pre-k yet so she may have been a year or so younger) she used to stay with our elderly next door neighbors during the day while the wife and I worked.   The lady of the house got to feeling poorly one day and went to lie down on the coach.  Her husband is incapable of caring for himself let alone taking care of his wife and my daughter became concerned.   Angel (my daughter) asked the woman if she wanted her to get help.   The woman, a bit curios I suppose, asked Angel who would she get to help.   My daughter calmly responded she'd call 911.   The woman told Angel that if she got to feeling any worse or passed out that she could do that but did she know the address of the house.  My daughter without hesitation replied that she did not know the house number but that she knew the name of the street and that it was the last house on the street and would tell the 911 person to look for the house with little girl on the front porch that she would be waiting for them.  Our neighbor was amazed at how quickly Angel had thought threw the situation.

We weren't too surprised, Angel has always been very bright.  She just graduated 6th grade with honors and scored in the top 99 percentile on the EOGs for her grade in the entire state.

For 16 of my 20 years in the Air Force my job was taking and responding to emergency calls on base.  Then for another 10 years as a civilian, same thing.  During that time I had a few
young girls and boys that could respond in such a manner as this little girl did.  We often had adults that could not respond so well.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Watched the video with the wife listening, she said what was that?  I replayed the whole thing for her.  We loved it.  Thanks for sharing.
